Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
