The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage depict the roof structure igniting as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Authorities have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the fatalities of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and injured another over a hundred. Authorities stated on Friday that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with work ongoing to locate the final individuals.

Desperate Searches for the Missing
