Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
