Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, its talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards during the event.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
