Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
