The head of state made a trip to meet with Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he engaged with soldiers at the operational headquarters of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya area, a location approximately 12 miles from the city.

Critical Circumstances in Pokrovsk

Geospatial data from a local initiative revealed that invading troops had pushed further into Pokrovsk and its environs, though much of it was not fully held by any party. The conditions are severe, with reports indicating that opposition troops were digging in and building up positions in some districts.

Russian forces continue to advance in the Pokrovsk direction and are reportedly acting with increasing comfort within urban Pokrovsk.

Research institutes observed that national troops had recaptured substantial territory of a enemy advance in the Dobropillya area, on the east side of the Pokrovsk operation.

The national leader appealed to Washington to remain open to providing Ukraine with extended-distance arms. Speaking at an EU meeting from the conflict zone, the head of state also called for more western sanctions on Russia – including on fuel and power segments – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU prior to the next decade.

International Assistance and Political Developments

The European nation plans to raise its military aid to Ukraine by €3bn next year to about €11.5bn, the finance ministry in the German government said on the weekday. This includes, among other things, heavy weapons, aerial vehicles, protected carriers and the exchange of missile defense equipment.
